I would love to purchase an entire new wardrobe when the seasons change, but that would cost a small fortune. Heck, I would need a second full-time job to make that happen (and nobody has time for that). Before I hit add to cart, there are a few steps to help me indicate what I want to buy for this upcoming season. I breeze through my closet and take a quick inventory from what I purchased last year. After that's complete, I look at what I have left from prior years.

Here are a few questions that I ask myself:
1) Does it fit my body now?
2) Does the structure of the garment still work for me?
3) Is this still on trend?
4) Does this item bring me joy?

If I answer ‘no’ to any of the questions listed above, it's time to part ways. Here are a few things that you can do with clothing items that you no longer want: give it to a friend, donate to goodwill or local women’s shelter, list it on Poshmark, or send it into thredUP. I am always refreshing my closet to keep things new and exciting.

I found this skirt last year at Old Navy. If I remember correctly, it reminded me of a print that Tory Burch did a few seasons ago. It has a pull-on elastic waist and a ton of color options for top possibilities. I also like that it gives me the freedom to pair it with black or brown shoes. To give this skirt a new look for 2017, I paired it with this great sweater I found at LOFT. Funny enough, I purchased this top earlier this spring. However, I am rocking this bell-sleeved, mustard sweater into this fall season. It just goes to show that you do not need to purchase new items just because the season changes. With a little creativity, you can give your old skirt new life!

I have an extra inexpensive trick up my sleeve for you. This simple thing will transform your look for the new season: lipstick. You are reading that right, lipstick! To be completely honest with you, I have about 10 different lip colors that I stick to, five for the spring/summer and five for fall/winter. One of the easiest ways to make everything look new is by changing your lip color. I had a chance to try Bite Beauty's Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick in three new colors. Here are the shades from top to bottom: Éclair (Soft rose), Flambé (Vivid Poppy) and Demi Glace (chocolate Mauve). This liquid formula is available in 18+ colors and is creamy with a satiny finish.

Hey Oklahoma girls, feeling uninspired when you look into your closet? Let's chat! I would love to help you update your wardrobe.
